Jarurat Ek Pahal Ki
" Education is the passion for learning which leads us from darkness to light "
This is a flagship programme for the communities of indigenous people. In the meantime, during the second wave of the COVID-19 programme, the district of Korba was placed under lockdown. In the tribal district known as Korba, the working class makes up the majority of the people who live there. Because they do not have any savings and because they already struggle for money on a regular basis, tribal communities suffered more from the lockdown’s effects than other communities did.
The only weapon to fight injustice is Education.
There is a village called Gudrumuda that has a population of 1800 people and has its own Panchayat. Within this particular panchayat, there were a total of 65 people who were diagnosed with Covid, and the entire panchayat was declared a containment zone. The panchayat was experiencing difficulties with food and required some essential items. This particular panchayat is home to members of the Birhor Cast tribe, who have been given official status by the president.
The majority of government officers and workers had been affected by the COVID outbreak or were preoccupied with other responsibilities. Because of this, nobody wants to visit the location. There were some individuals, such as pregnant women, senior citizens, and others who lacked access to appropriate nutrition and food but were in need of it. Previously, the situation was in an even more dire state. A great number of households were only eating one meal each day. In spite of the fact that the government had announced a content zone, people did not have masks or sanitizer and were therefore affected. Together, we launched the “Jarurat Ek Pahal Ki” campaign and conducted fundraising activities.
As part of our initiative “India gave Organisation”, “the Blue Dart organisation”, social activist “Mitul kakkar”, “Shinu Nambiar”, “Zeal Shah”, and “Ashok Mishra” assisted to make available 220 medical kits and grossery to be distributed among the tribal community. Additionally, the District Administration Korba provided their support for this programme.
